We rely on our volunteers who make things happen.
We are very fortunate to have a loyal band of people, of all ages, abilities and backgrounds who help get things done.
We meet regularly throughout the year and hold volunteer sessions every Friday morning 10am until 1pm.
It can be hard work, but it's fun, and you will meet new people and learn new skills.
Our activities can include pruning established trees, planting new trees or hedges, hedgelaying, or as in this picture, cleaning and sharpening tools.
We take great pride in growing fruit and vegetables, and tending our bee hives.
Our lovely fresh produce is carefully processed to make delicious jams, juices, chutneys and honey which we sell to help spread the word about quality, locally sourced food.
Our popular events are usually well attended so there's alot of planning and preparation before the Big Day.
Everything from undertaking risk assessments, to doing the cleaning, or putting up tents and gazebos so there's usually a task and a way in which everyone can contribute.
Since our creation in 2011 Colwall Orchard Trust has become an increasingly complex organisation and we now need to manage our activities in an ever more professional manner.
Whether building our website, dealing with our accounts, producing promotional material or maintaining our Business Plan there's always administrative work to do.
So if you're a spreadsheet specialist, a website wizard or an accounting ace we'd love to hear from you!
As a charity we welcome donations from individuals and organisations.
A little money can go a long way, especially when gift-aided, and you can rest assured that the money will be gratefully received and wisely spent.
THANK YOU!
Planting new trees is a wonderful and heart-warming activity.
You can sponsor a tree in our community orchards for yourself or your loved ones - perhaps a gift for someone special in your life, or maybe a dedication to someone that you wish to remember.
We charge £100 which includes sponsorship of a tree which you can select in the orchards, and a plaque with your message.
We will care for your tree and you can visit it any time you like.
Our community orchards provide peaceful places to stop and reflect. They are peaceful havens.
Our trustees are a group of volunteers who hold the financial and legal responsibility for everything that Colwall Orchard Group does and they bring a wide range of knowledge, expertise and experience.
Could you possibly add to that?
We'd love to hear from you...
If you enjoy orchards as a place for nature and for people as much as we do then help us to ensure that traditional orchards continue to have a future by leaving us a gift in your Will.
We are exceptionally fortunate in that we are based in an area with a rich orchard history.
We've done some initial delving into what has turned out to be an extensive orchard-related historical archive but we've probably only scratched the surface of the available material.
