This section of our website introduces sources of funding that may be available to help your orchard and fruit tree planting aspirations.
Working in conjunction with our partners at Malvern Hills AONB, 'Traditional Orchards For the Future Initiative' (TOFI) is our ongoing flagship project to help provide new traditional orchards, together with breathing life into existing orchards, in the Colwall area and immediate environs.
Grants for the improvement of the natural environment, for cultural heritage and public access broadly within / immediately adjoining the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty area. This has previously included the gapping up and extending of traditional orchards.
Fruit tree and hedge plant packs for schools use.
Grants for community groups to create new traditional orchards, or for landowners to gap up existing traditional orchards.
Option BE5 - Creation of Traditional Orchards provides financial support for landowners in a Countryside Stewardship Higher Tier agreement allowing them to create, gap up or extend traditional orchards.
For sites in urban or peri-urban locations, 'with public access', the opportunity to obtain grant funding towards the planting and establishment of traditional orchards with in excess of 10 trees.
For planting of orchard trees as part of community tree planting initiatives the International Tree Foundation offers grants of up to £6000.00. Grants are only available for sites on which the general public can visit.
