Colwall Allotments and COVID-19

We are constantly reviewing our activities in response to the coronavirus outbreak, taking sensible actions to protect the health and safety of our allotment tenants and members of the public visiting our site.

We understand that, at the moment, it is still permitted to visit your plot, on your own or with someone you share a house with. This is to take daily exercise. Government guidance says that you must minimise the time you spend away from home.

It is vitally important that you follow advice about social distancing and hygiene and that you do not to gather together on site.

Any plot holder who is self-isolating because they or a household member is unwell with Covid-19 symptoms must not visit the site.

To adhere to Government guidance you must follow these rules:

1. Maintain a minimum distance of 2-3 metres between yourself and others working on the site. Do not gather for a chat.

2. Do not share tools. This includes wheelbarrows and watering cans.

3. Wear gloves to open gates.

4. Use hand gel before and after touching any surfaces or equipment on the site. Soap has been provided at the outside sink close to the large metal water tank – do not use water from the water butts. There is hand sanitiser in the toilet.

If you have any thoughts, suggestions or concerns (including the need for help on your plot) please contact the Secretary by email
